My Guardala Story 2007
the anatomy of a SCAM

A Message to the Victims

If you have been victimized by Dave Guardala, please step forward as I have, and tell your story.

I believe dozens of saxophone players have been contacted by Dave with an offer to purchase vintage saxophones and mouthpieces, paid thousands of dollars and never saw a thing from Mr. Guardala. It looks as if many fell to this scam, myself included.

If you have had contact or have a story that you can share, please visit the BLOG and post your story. If you would rather share via email; email me, Greg Vail at gvsaxboy@aol.com.

Dave Guardala was a legend in the sax world. His mouthpieces were among the very best ever created. The art of the Scam involves trust. Dave Guardala used his good name to develop further trust in an amazing opportunity that was too easy to fall for. I know I did!

Just let me say, you are not stupid for believing Dave. You might have suffered serious loss, but you took a chance that looked really good. I understand that because I fell prey to Dave's lies. Don’t let this single event define your future. Wipe yourself off and start moving forward again.

I have had people make me feel pretty stupid for not realizing Guardala was not safe business call. How could I have missed all the bad press online and stories and all? I didn't find anything that said thief. I found stuff that said stupid. But I have had far more people offer sympathy and encouragement thru the process.

This event may cost you some pretty overwhelming setbacks, but you can and will survive it. This is not a major illness or the loss of a loved one. Money is a renewable resource.

History says every successful business is preceded by failure and every thriving relationship traveled a path of serious difficulty along the way.

I, personally did not loose expendable income. I borrowed and borrowed and borrowed again to get in this horrible place. I will be paying back loans for years to come and will have to adjust many spending habits to survive, but I will survive.

I pray you discover the fighting spirit within to graciously accept this major bump in the road and fight your way into a better future. My prayers go out to those who have experienced this loss – to you and your families.

May your future be blessed and your needs for tomorrow be met.

The following was POSTED on Sax On The Web, posted by member Tonehole, on February 16th, 2007. Another Dave Guardala attempt to defraud Sax Players out of hard earned money with the same SCAM he sold me.

<-- Begin Copy -->

Below is a email I received from Dave.

I was put in touch with Dave by a buyer at Long&McQuade. They were offered the deal and knew Dave on a personal level, business practice did not allow them to do a money transaction. They knew I do large mouthpiece deals and gave me Daves contact information.

It was a sweet deal but I explained to Dave the problems with getting $10,000.00 in cash from the bank without having the RCMP involved. There is a anti terrorist / drug law and all cash over $10,000.00 is tracked.

I still thought it was a real deal so I offered to fly to Germany and do bank transfers and hand the cash to Dave in person. Whats $800.00 airfare when you are passing of $15,000.00CDN with a potential pay out of around $70,000.00US! I told him he could ship the instruments and I would fly back with a suitcase full of mouthpieces!

He ranted that this was not the deal ... I hung up.
