Critic - I have a message for you
The Critics
I have already faced some negative correspondence for sharing my story online.
One guy posted, asking how I could have fallen for a scam with Dave Guardala with all the bad press online about Mr. Guardala. Good question.
I researched the web looking for everything I could find on Dave Guardala that first night, July 28th, 2006. I found stories from a very colorful individual that, due to his abrasive personality, it was too easy to dismiss as a jerk. I found stories of the mess Guardala left when he disappeared. I found old stories of court battles and personal wars fought over the products of Dave Guardala. I found nothing to suggest Guardala was capable of something like this.
Over the last few months, stories have begun to surface that might suggest avoiding Guardala, but there was nothing I could find when I made the plunge. I am pretty good at researching online and I found nothing. Because I personally knew Dave and much of the online stories dealt with old events, I dismissed much of it and went forward with the deal with Dave.
I now know that there have been allegations and stories, but they have been pulled off Forums and the web because they did not seem true. These posts got ugly and disappeared.
Knowing what I now know, I would be inclined to believe more of the supposed victims and wish the stories were online to see. Threads I have found, that ask where the Guardala Fraud story went, suggest they did exist and were taken down either for younger readers protection or due to people getting lame on the threads.
I have had a few personal attacks since going public. The online community is quick to demand facts and the process is frustrating to say the least. I have been in contact now with a few people that were shut down by these critics. It looks to me as if they did get burned, but then the possibility is 100% higher in my worldview than it was a year ago.
So – It wasn’t me! How could you get caught up in a scam like this? Who are you? What facts do you have to support this claim? Is this the Christian thing to do? (Forgive and Forget!). A Sample of a few.
All I know is, I was burned and I’m not an idiot. I screwed up but it didn’t look like it until recent. Now it seems like anyone claiming to be contacted or defrauded by Dave Guardala could be telling the truth. Why would they lie? What gain could there be in lying such a lie in the first place?
SO critics – I am throwing out my story, now knowing there are many other accusations, and see if I don’t find many others in the process.
Why? Why do all this? Why take the time and make such an issue?
This has to stop. If Guardala has been ripping off people and the online community is dismissing it as lies, and he really is; he will keep hurting people until he can’t.
I feel responsibility to others. If I had the cure for cancer and told no one, it would be a horrible crime. If I knew that there was an unsafe curve ahead in the road, yet warned no one about the danger, that would be evil.
I feel the need to warn people of danger and stop the scams if at all possible. This was devastating for me and I have heard it has been for others too. I would love to be wrong here. I’d love to be the only one that was ever sought out, set up and scammed out of thousands of dollars by Dave Guardala. But I know that is not the case.
I know you critics are better than me and need no warning about dangers, but for those that are like me and might need the warning – Go Away whilst I WARN.
